Most of it is destined to pumping water from the farm, so it can be mentioned that the banana production process is being carried out for an important part by means of renewable energy.
On December 15, 2021, we inaugurated the largest banana photovoltaic project in Ecuador with 730 panels with an installed power of 413.4 kWp, representing a saving of 100 tons of carbon dioxide per year and helping us to generate a clean, sustainable and circular banana production.
Thanks to the remarkable work of Ricardo Umpierrez, President of Mundo Banana; Gino Pinargote, Executive President of GENERA and José Carrera, Senior Advisor for International Relations at Banco del Pichincha, Mundo Banana is firmly advancing towards development and environmental responsibility in our industry.
